Jin Hong joined StrataLight as Vice President of Product Line Management in June 2007. Jin has 15 years of experience in R&D, Product Line Management, Sales, and Marketing in optical communications. Prior to joining StrataLight, Jin served as Vice President of Technology at Oplink Communications and was General Manager for their private label sub-system business. Before Oplink, Jin was Director for Product Line Management at Ciena Corporation. Prior to Ciena, Jin was with ONI Systems in San Jose, Nortel Networks and Bell Northern Research in Canada with various responsibilities in research and product management. Jin has authored over 60 technical papers and holds multiple US and international patents in the fields of semiconductor lasers and optical communications. He received his B.S. and M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology of China, and Ph.D. degree in Optoelectronics from the University of Waterloo, Canada, where he was awarded the "Governor's General Gold Medal of Canada."
