Jim Winestock is senior vice president of operations for UPS. Winestock is responsible for all U.S. operations which includes the pick up and delivery of more than 14.1 million packages each day and 384,000 employees.
Winestock is a member of the UPS Management Committee, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of the company.
The Greenville, S.C., native joined UPS in 1969 as a part-time loader in Florida. He began his management career with UPS a year later after graduating from college. He has served the company in various functions, including operations, finance/accounting and industrial engineering.
Winestock has served in several leadership positions within the company, most notably as district manager in the company’s Northeast Texas and Missouri Districts and as vice president and region manager in the Midwest Region and in the North Central Region, which covered six states in the heartland of the United States.
He has also served as the coordinator of UPS’s Corporate Schools, the company’s management training program, and participated in the UPS Community Internship Program at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga. Winestock is also a graduate of the Executive Management Program of the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
