James J. Pieczynski, age 44, is the co-president of the Healthcare and Specialty Finance Business of CapitalSource Inc. (NYSE: CSE), a leading commercial lending, investment and asset management business focused on the middle market. As of June 30, 2007, CapitalSource managed an $20.1 billion portfolio of owned and managed assets.
Jim joined CapitalSource in 2001 to start its healthcare real estate lending practice in addition to starting a sale leaseback business on healthcare facilities. Since joining CapitalSource, Mr. Pieczynski has overseen the growth of the health real estate portfolio to $2 billion. Prior to joining CapitalSource, from 1993 to 2001, Mr. Pieczynski was at LTC Properties, Inc., a healthcare REIT traded on the NYSE. Before leaving LTC, Mr. Pieczynski was the president, CFO and a member of the board of directors. Prior to joining LTC Properties, Mr. Pieczynski was the director of development for American Medical International, Inc. (now Tenet Healthcare Corporation) and was responsible for completing acquisitions and joint ventures.
Jim has been on the board of directors of the National Investment Center (NIC).
