JIM KRAUS is President of Carsey-Werner Domestic Television Distribution. He oversees all of CW's domestic sales to broadcast stations and cable networks, as well as sales operations and regional sales offices. Prior to being named to his current position in September of 2004, he was Executive Vice President, General Sales Manager. He joined CW in 1999 as SVP, Regional Sales Manager responsible for the company’s Northeast and Midwest efforts and was promoted in 2000 to Executive Vice President. Prior to joining CW, Mr. Kraus was Executive Vice President, Director of Sales and Marketing for MCA/Universal Television from 1991 to 1997. Mr. Kraus joined MCA/Universal Television in 1982 as Regional Sales Manager, Northeast Area, and was subsequently promoted in 1984 to Vice President, Northeast Region Sales Manager and again in 1987 to Senior Vice President, Director of Sales. While at MCA/Universal, Mr. Kraus directed the sales efforts of a variety of programs, including Hercules, Xena, Coach and Magnum P.I., as well as numerous Universal film packages. In 1977, Mr. Kraus began his business career with MGM Television in Los Angeles, where he managed the sales of all MGM television series and motion pictures in a territory of 13 western states. In 1980 he began work with Telepictures Corporation, a division of Time Warner Television, and sold first-run syndicated programming to the company’s Western and Central Regions. Mr. Kraus holds an MBA, Presidential/Key Executive Program, from Pepperdine University and a BA in Psychology from Hobart College in Geneva, NY. |
