James Hedges was promoted to the position of chief financial officer and executive vice president of the ABC Television Network and ABC Television Studio in October 2005. Based in Burbank, California, he reports to Anne Sweeney, co-chair, Disney Media Networks and president, Disney-ABC Television Group.
As chief financial officer and executive vice president, Mr. Hedges is responsible for all financial aspects of the ABC Television Network and ABC Television Studio, including accounting, financial reporting, planning and deal analysis.
Mr. Hedges most recently served as the network’s chief financial officer and senior vice president, since January 2001. He joined the ABC Entertainment Television Group in November 1999 as senior vice president, Finance and Planning.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Hedges was vice president of Finance and chief financial officer for Buena Vista Television. He oversaw all financial aspects of the syndication division. He joined Buena Vista Television in 1995 as director of Finance.
Mr. Hedges also served as assistant controller for both Lucasfilm Ltd. and TriStar Pictures and as director of Financial Reporting for Sony Pictures Entertainment. He was assistant controller for The Guber-Peters Entertainment Company prior to its acquisition by Sony USA, and began his career as an audit senior for Arthur Andersen & Co.
A certified public accountant, Mr. Hedges is a magna cum laude graduate of Azusa Pacific University with a BS degree in accounting. He also has been an adjunct lecturer for the university’s graduate and undergraduate business programs. |
