Jim Greth, CLU, is a nationally recognized expert in the benefits and healthcare industry, with a career spanning more than three decades. Prior to joining Word & Brown in 1996 as a senior sales executive, he was Director of Sales for the Western Region of Metropolitan Life. As Senior Vice President of Sales at Word & Brown General Agency, Greth is responsible for the five sales regions throughout California, providing benefit solutions for brokers and agents in the small employer marketplace. Reporting to Greth are five Regional Vice Presidents who oversee each of these five territories. Regional sales teams conduct numerous broker training classes and seminars that focus on small and large group plans and solutions for business owners, emphasizing the broker's role in the benefit delivery system. Under Greth's direction, the Word & Brown General Agency provides many avenues of sales support for brokers, including inside sales consulting, field sales presentations, enrollment support and broker/customer service. Brokers also routinely receive comprehensive quotes, plan comparisons and recommendations reflecting the many choices in today's marketplace. This activity is supported by the Word & Brown underwriting department. This key group evaluates and reviews benefit plans received from the sales team and prepares and approves the data before submission to the many insurance carriers that partner with Word & Brown. Greth is actively involved on the boards of several professional organizations, and currently serves as Vice President of Finance for the Orange County Association of Health Underwriters (OCAHU). He is Secretary-Treasurer for the California Health Underwriters Association (CAHU). Greth holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Arizona and is a Chartered Life Underwriter. |
