As Financial Director, Jim Godkins oversees NEEP’s systems and facilities, financial accounting, business planning, budget development, grant management, and human resources. Jim started his career as a staff accountant for Arthur Young & Co., a public accounting firm. Subsequent to that he worked in post secondary education for many years in the career education sector and served as chief financial officer (CFO) for two for-profit school groups, one in Pittsburgh and the other in Boston. Jim was president of Burdett College in Boston from 1994-1998. He also owned, operated, and was president of a career college in New Haven, Conn. that he later sold to MacMillan Publishing Company. Prior to joining NEEP, Jim worked in the nonprofit sector for six years serving as Chief Financial Officer for the JASON Foundation for Education. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Massachusetts Bay Community College with campuses in Wellesley, Framingham and Ashland. Jim has an undergraduate degree in economics and a master’s in business administration from Washington University in St. Louis. |
