Jim Gilbert is Group President Cardiovascular at Boston Scientific Corporation.
In this role Jim is responsible for Boston Scientific’s Cardiovascular Group which includes the Company’s Peripheral Interventions Vascular Surgery Neurovascular Electrophysiology and Cardiac Surgery businesses. This combination brings together a broad continuum of surgical and interventional businesses of similar scale and growth potential. Jim will be responsible for the strategic planning and operating effectiveness of the Group. He will also continue to oversee the Company’s Marketing Science function. Prior to this role Jim served as Senior Vice President and led Boston Scientific’s E-Marketing Marketing Science Corporate Sales and National Accounts and Reimbursement and Outcomes Planning functions.
Previously Jim spent 23 years at Bain & Company where he served as Director and Partner based in Boston Massachusetts and Munich Germany. From 1990 to 2003 he was Global Healthcare Practice Managing Partner overseeing strategic operational and organizational client relationships focused on medical technology diagnostic pharmaceutical biotechnology analytic instrumentation information technologies distribution and alternate site and hospital providers.
As a leading member of Global Strategy Practice at Bain Jim was a published author and speaker on both medical technology/pharmaceutical industry strategic trends and issues and profit pool- based and strategic principled-based strategy implementation. He was also an elected member and chairman of all three of Bain’s partner leadership committees including the Partner Compensation and Promotion Committee Partner Management Committee and Partner Nominating and Governance Committee.
Jim graduated from Cornell University School of Engineering where he earned a B.S. in industrial engineering and operations research with high distinction. He earned an M.B.A. with high distinction from Harvard Business School. |
