Jim Conti brings more than 20 years of experience in a variety of wireless industry sales, business development, sales training, sales management and general management experience to his new role at PlayPhone as vice president of carrier business. Conti has held several senior positions within the wireless space, beginning with the early days of paging with SkyTel and Metrocall through mobile carriers such as T-Mobile and CellularOne.
Over the years he brought two mobile start-up companies from their pre-prototype stage to full worldwide commercial launch, calling on all of the major wireless carriers, OEMs, ODMs and strategic partners worldwide. He helped market the Fastap keypad technology for DigitWireless to all wireless carriers and OEMs, which resulted in the launch of the LG 6190, the first Fastap mobile handset and the accompanying business agreement with the OEM, LG and TELUS Mobility. He has also worked with major industry players such as Intel, Qualcomm and Microsoft and was involved in securing angel and venture funding for DigitWireless from companies such as Qualcomm, TELUS Ventures and Venrock.
Conti was a key member of the worldwide launch team for Cascada Mobile’s viral marketing technology, TAG, for mobile content, including their interactions with Konami, HandsOn, Skyzone, Disney Mobile, and mobile content initiatives with FX and CBS. Jim is also an instructor for the Dale Carnegie organization and an active member of the MMA and CTIA. |
