Jim Hindman has exhibited a unique combination of entrepreneurial spirit, leadership and educational commitment throughout his varied professional career. A co-founder and board member of Avatech since its inception, he served as Chairman from 2002 until 2007.
After founding Jiffy Lube International in 1979 and growing it to 1,000 units internationally, he helped make the fast oil change and lubrication franchise a household name. After selling Jiffy Lube in 1989, he was the founder, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Youth Services International, a private service agency that serves more than 3,000 juveniles from 35 states and operates residential and community-based educational programs for adjudicated and at-risk youth. Always interested in higher education, he turned Western Maryland College’s football program around and led the team to four winning seasons.
Hindman has served in various capacities at numerous hospitals and founded and managed a successful consulting practice. He has served on numerous boards and has received awards of recognition including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1987 by the International Franchise Association. |
