Jill Basinger is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP based in the Firm's Los Angeles office. As a member of the Firm's Trial Department, she concentrates her practice on employment issues, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and wage and hour. She also has extensive experience in the areas of copyright and trademark infringement, unfair competition, unfair business practices, fraud and other complex business litigation. As an active trial lawyer, Jill has successfully tried cases involving wrongful termination, defamation, invasion of privacy, breach of contract, fraud and other disputes.
Jill is co-author of "The USA Patriot Act" in TerraLex, and co-author of "Pretrial Motions" in Defending Diversity: Cultural Issues in Criminal Defense.
While in law school, Jill was Articles Editor and Budget Coordinator for the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law. As an undergraduate at the University of California, Los Angeles she was twice collegiate national debate champion.
During 1997-1998, Jill served as a law clerk for the Honorable A. Andrew Hauk, Chief Judge Emeritus of the United States District Court, Central District of California.
Jill is admitted to practice before the California bar, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
