Jill Barnes is Senior Vice President of Retail Banking for Fremont Investment & Loan, an industrial chartered bank engaged in deposit gathering through a retail branch network located in the coastal and Central Valley regions of Southern California. Her responsibilities include managing 22 branches statewide. The Retail Banking portfolio consists of approximately 150,000 accounts, representing approximately $6.7 billion in deposits. Ms. Barnes brings more than 20 years of financial services experience to Fremont. Most recently, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Consumer Banking at IndyMac Bank, responsible for all business and support units within the Retail Banking Division. Before joining IndyMac in 1999, Ms. Barnes served in several senior operations and sales assignments at Home Savings of America, where her last assignment was as Senior Vice President, Operations and Sales. Ms. Barnes joined Home Savings in 1983 as a Manager in the Corporate Training Department. She relocated to New York to manage the conversion of the 35 branch network of The Bowery Savings Bank into Home Savings. She ultimately returned to California and held a variety of progressive management and senior officer assignments. She ran branches, operations, trust services and oversaw sales and performance based pay programs for 400 branches.Earlier in her career, Ms. Barnes was a high school English teacher in the Glendora Unified School District. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Masters of Arts in Education from California State University Los Angeles. |
