Jil Stark has served on the Board of Directors since 1975 and as the Chairman of the Audit Committee at PFF Bank & Trust since 1977. Born in Tokyo, Japan, Mrs. Stark was educated in Hong Kong, England and Portugal. She pursued her college studies in the United States at Scripps College in Claremont. There she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in international relations and later received her elementary teacher’s credential from San Diego State University.
Before joining the Board, Mrs. Stark was a lecturer in the Sophomore Humanities Program and Assistant Dean of Students at Scripps. She is a former director of the Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum at Claremont McKenna College, chairman of the Annual Fund of Scripps College and director of the Curtain Raisers of the Claremont Colleges. In 1973, Mrs. Stark was instrumental in writing and publishing a booklet, called Digging It Out Shopping in the Pomona Valley; proceeds from the sale of the booklet were directed to the Scholarship Fund of Mary B. Eyre Children’s School.
In addition to her service to the academic community, Mrs. Stark is currently a director of the Los Angeles County Fair Association. She has served on the Board of Trustees of Mt. San Antonio Gardens, a local retirement community. Mrs. Stark is a member of the Committee on Aging in the City of Claremont. She and her husband currently head fundraising efforts for the Pilgrim Place Health Center in Claremont. |
