You say "FableVision," Jesse says "Faaay-bulVision." Sounds better with a Southern drawl, no? Jesse Haines acquired her Scarlett O'Accent in Tennessee, where she was born and raised. No denying it's warmer below the Mason-Dixon Line, but Jesse doesn't mind Boston's chilly temps-she got used to snow while earning her B.A. in English and Psychology at Wellesley College in Boston. There, she also served as Editor in Chief of the College's weekly newspaper. After graduating in 2002, Jesse taught fourth grade for two years in Teach For America's Mississippi Delta corps before returning north for an editorial internship at Highlights For Children magazine (Honesdale, PA). Her internship duties included locating toothbrushes, ducks, spoons, and ice-cream pops within Highlights' "Hidden Pictures" feature. Somebody's gotta do it! Jesse is grateful to former Mission Specialist Dawn Haley Morton for introducing her to FableVision last year. As Dawn's successor, Jesse is responsible for keeping the Boston studio aesthetically sharp and mentally sound. She also assists Marketing Director Leigh Hallisey in broadcasting Visionary products and ideas. Though she is not messy and doesn't own a cow named Bessie, Jesse enjoys rhyming. Among her recent poetry: "Ode to My Boyfriend's Female Roommate" and "Elegy For My Emoticons." She draws inspiration from the mad lyrical stylin' of Cole Porter and the humorous verse of Ogden Nash. |
