Jerry Armstrong currently serves as president, global truck for the Commercial Vehicle Group. In this role Armstrong is responsible for leading more than 4,000 employees toward company operations and profitability goals. Jerry began his manufacturing career in 1984 as a quality engineerfor the Hyster Company. His career quickly escalated, and in 1989 he joined Arvin Industries as a quality manager. He continued to pursue challenging roles within Arvin Industries and landed positions of increasing responsibility as business unit manager and director of manufacturing. Armstrong further advanced his career in 1997, when he joined Arvin-Meritor Inc. as vice president of operations and engineering for Gabriel Ride Control Inc. He was promoted a short two years later to vice president and general manager of Gabriel Ride Control Inc. While in these roles, he oversaw more than $400 million in sales and 2500 employees. In 2002, Armstrong joined National Seating, a soon to be division of the Commercial Vehicle Group. As vice president and general manager for National Seating, he was responsible for all aspects of the original equipment and aftermarket businesses. He was promoted to president, CVG Americas in 2004. Under Armstrong’s leadership the Commercial Vehicle Group went public on Aug. 5, 2004. It is now a $750 million company with 5700 employees.Armstrong holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts from Berea College in Berea Kentucky.
