Dr. Griffin has over nine years experience working in the biotech and medical technologies industry and 23 years in clinical research and academic teaching focused on cardiology disease, most recently as CEO of Point Biomedical. Prior to Point Biomedical, Dr. Griffin worked from 1992 to 1998 at InControl, Inc. serving last as Executive Vice President responsible for worldwide regulatory affairs and clinical development activities and prior to that served as Vice President Medical Affairs. Dr. Griffin also has worked actively in strategic consulting assignments for various development stage medical technology companies including HeartStent, Inc., Transneuronix, Inc., InFlow Dynamics, Inc., Atrionix, Inc. and PharmaSonics, Inc. Prior to his recent industry experience, Dr. Griffin served as a full time faculty member in the Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiology at several renowned teaching institutions including Professor of Medicine at the University of California at San Francisco; Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine; and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stanford University. Dr. Griffin earned a B.S. degree at the University of Southern Mississippi, a M.D. degree at the University of Mississippi, and earned a Fellow in Cardiology at Stanford University. |
