Jerry A. Newby is a Director of MidCountry, and has served as President of the Alabama Farmers Federation and as President, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Alfa Companies since 1998. Prior to his election as President of Alfa, Mr. Newby served as Vice President and as a member of the Board of Directors of Alfa. Mr. Newby also currently serves on the Foundation Board for Athens State University and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Business Council of Alabama. In addition to his current involvement with Alfa, Mr. Newby is a partner in a family farm operation which is located on 8,000 acres in the Tennessee Valley area of north Alabama and parts of south central Tennessee. Mr. Newby has served as a member of the Alabama State Board of Agriculture and Industries, as a member of the Board of Cotton, Inc., as a delegate to the National Cotton Council and as Secretary of Southern Cotton Growers. |
