Jeremy W. Katz specializes in bankruptcy, insolvency and reorganization law, and represents creditors, bankruptcy trustees, and business debtors. He has experience litigating preference actions, motions for relief from the automatic stay, contested cash collateral hearings, objections to plans of reorganization, objections to proofs of claim, as well as removal and remand motions.
Mr. Katz has represented commercial landlords in business bankruptcies, and clients in bankruptcy sales of real and personal property. He also counsels distressed businesses.

Education
Mr. Katz is a 1975 cum laude graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. He received a Masters Degree in Romance Languages and Literatures (Spanish) from the University of Michigan in 1977. He is a 1985 graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Mr. Katz served as associate note editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review, 1984-1985.
Admissions
Mr. Katz is admitted to practice before all courts of the State of California, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Memberships and Affiliations
Mr. Katz is a member of the California State Bar Association, the Bar Association of San Francisco (Commercial Law and Bankruptcy sections), the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Bay Area Bankruptcy Forum.
