Dr. Goyan at age 73, is a Director of Cerco Medical. Dr. Goyan served as Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration from 1979 until 1981 and was Dean of the School of Pharmacy at the University of California, San Francisco for 25 years. He is currently President of Goyan and Hart Associates and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SciClone Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Goyan also serves on the Board of Directors of Emisphere Technologies and PenWest Pharmaceuticals. He was President and Chief Operating Officer of Alteon, Inc. for five years, a company developing pharmaceuticals to prevent organ damage in diabetics. He has had a long interest in diabetes research and islet transplantation. Among many other honors, Goyan received the Remington Medal from the American Pharmaceutical Association, numerous lectureships, and honorary degrees from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science, the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy, and other institutions. |
