Jeffrey 'Jay' Craig is senior vice president and controller of ArvinMeritor, Inc. He is responsible for worldwide financial controls and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements; financial systems; financial planning and management reporting; accounting policies; and external reporting and financial support in the attainment of operational goals and objectives. In addition, he is responsible for leading the company’s efforts to realize overhead cost reduction for indirect materials and savings associated with a financial shared services model, along with managing the Performance Plus program office.
Before joining ArvinMeritor, Craig served as president and CEO of General Motors Acceptance Corp.’s (GMAC) Commercial Finance organization from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of GMAC’s Business Credit division from 1999 until 2001. He joined GMAC as a general auditor in 1997 from Deloitte & Touche, where he served as an audit partner for 15 years.
Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Michigan State University and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University in Durham, N.C.
