Jeffrey Blumberg is a partner and a member of the firm's Investment Management Practice Group. His practice concentrates primarily on representing and advising sponsors of unregistered investment funds (i.e., hedge funds) organized both in the United States and offshore, which also involves issues relating to investment advisors, broker-dealers, commodity trading advisors and commodity pool operators. Jeffrey provides counsel regarding regulatory, organizational, structural and business matters for his clients. Jeffrey has also been a guest lecturer at Northwestern School of Law and a speaker at industry conferences on topics relating to hedge funds and registered investment advisors.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeffrey spent seven years working in the financial services industry with one of the largest independent insurance brokerages in the Chicagoland area. He was a registered principal for the firm's broker-dealer branch office and acted as the internal compliance officer for both the broker-dealer branch office and the firm's wholly owned investment advisor. Jeffrey also oversaw the firm's technology infrastructure and provided advanced marketing support for the company's sales force in the areas of business succession and planning, executive compensation, retirement planning and estate planning.
Jeffrey lives in the northern suburbs with his wife and two children. He enjoys reading, snow skiing and is an avid bad golfer. |
