Jeffrey S. Spar was named Vice President and Chief Information Officer of The Reader's Digest Association Inc. in December 1998 and promoted to Senior Vice President in August 2002.
He is responsible for leading the company's global information technology function and ensuring Information Technology (IT) is leveraged to drive business units and corporate results. He is a leader in the company's Internet and E-commerce activities.
Prior to joining Reader's Digest Spar worked as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company where he developed general business strategies to promote growth and improve IT effectiveness at multinational companies. Spar spearheaded IT transformation efforts at several Fortune 500 companies.
Spar holds an MBA in Information Technology Management from Hofstra University Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the State University of New York at Albany. |
