Jeffrey Reilly is the managing principal of Miles & Stockbridge's Towson office and is a member of the firm's Management Committee. Mr. Reilly has appeared in State and Federal courts across the country, and participated in all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution, on behalf of financial service institutions, industrial equipment and power tool manufacturers, and telecommunication and information technology providers. A special focus of Mr. Reilly’s practice has been insurance recovery and risk management on behalf of policyholders. As part of his risk management counseling, Mr. Reilly is familiar with most business insurance policies and has litigated extensively on a range of losses including environmental, business interruption, and general casualty coverages. Mr. Reilly regularly represents clients in, among other areas: Contractual claims arising from a wide variety of business relationships; Business tort claims, including claims for fraud and misrepresentation, breach of fiduciary duty, defamation, wrongful termination and unfair competition; Enforcement of creditors' remedies and the defense of claims against financial institutions Real Estate related litigation, including landlord tenant matters, title related claims, use violations, application of the rule against perpetuities (Arundel Corp. v. Marie, 383 Md. 489 (2004), and property tax appeals both at the administrative and judicial levels. Franchise related litigation, including UFOC related claims; Emergency matters, where the exigencies of our client's circumstances require us to seek or defend against immediate relief from a court (such as injunctions, receiverships or attachments before process); Mr. Reilly also represents major telecommunication providers as well as technology infrastructure providers. He has successfully prosecuted appeals from decisions of the Maryland Public Service Commission, negotiated public right-of-way access, and an innovative public-private partnership to expand technology infrastructure in critical need areas of Baltimore City. He has represented both facilities- and non-facilities based providers in both the acquisition and disposition of telecommunication infrastructure, including Dark Fiber agreements, managed service agreements and innovative use agreement. Mr. Reilly also has developed national expertise in solving public right-of-way access issues.
