Jeffrey K. Speakes is Senior Managing Director and Chief Economist for Countrywide Financial Corporation, (NYSE: CFC), a diversified financial services provider and member of the S&P 500.
For the past 12 years, Speakes has helped develop and manage Countrywide's servicing hedge operation and quantitative modeling group. He also leads Countrywide's economics team and writes the monthly Economic Outlook letter.
Speakes joined Countrywide in 1992 as Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning. He was formerly Chairman of the asset-liability management committee for a California thrift. He also served as Director of U.S. Forecasting for the Claremont Economics Institute.
Speakes received a Ph.D. in Economics and an M.A. in Statistics from the University of California at Berkeley. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Speakes was formerly a member of the economics and finance faculties at the Claremont Graduate School, and is a member of both the Association of Investment Managers and the Los Angeles Society of Financial Analysts. |
