Jeffery J. Weaver is Executive Vice President & Group Head of Portfolio Management at KeyCorp. In this capacity, Mr. Weaver is responsible for the development and implementation of economic capital optimization strategies for Key's $48 Billion wholesale credit portfolio. A key objective is to improve overall portfolio efficiency by identifying and implementing transactions that reduce default risk and enhance return relative to risk within the portfolio.
Mr. Weaver was most recently Managing Director and Regional Portfolio Manager for the USA, Europe and Australia loan books for TD Securities (USA), LLC in New York, NY. While at TD Securities, Mr. Weaver was responsible for establishing the portfolio-level risk levels for the firm and the application of structured credit derivative hedging strategies on $10 billion in assets in the USA and UK. Before assuming this role, Mr. Weaver was Managing Director and Head of Transactions of Corporate Finance and Select Industries where he was responsible for the execution of corporate finance transactions within the paper and forest products diversified industries and public finance groups. Mr. Weaver's responsibilities also entailed management of a corporate credit portfolio of over $7 billion, which included a number of highly structured and project financings.
Prior to joining TD Securities in 1992, Mr. Weaver worked for the Bank of New York in its Trade and Multinational Banking division. He has held positions of increasing responsibility at the Bank of New York, JP Morgan, and Citicorp Investment Bank. In 2006, Mr. Weaver named one of the Top 50 under 50 African-American MBA corporate executives in the nation by Black MBA Magazine.
Mr. Weaver is active in the International Association of Credit Portfolio Managers; chairs the Cornell University Alumni Trustees Nomination Committee, is a member of the Cornell University and Johnson School Advisory Councils and is a past Director-At-Large of the Cornell Alumni Federation. Mr. Weaver is also involved in various philanthropic, civic, and cultural endeavors. He is a two-term member of the Board of Trustees of the Community Service Society of New York, a direct service and advocacy group for the poor of New York City; a Director on the St. Vincent's Charity Hospital Community Board in Cleveland, OH; a Director on the CityYear Cleveland Advisory Board; and is active with the Jackie Robinson Foundation in NYC.
Mr. Weaver holds an A.B. in Economics and Government from Cornell University, where he also earned his M.B.A in Finance from its Johnson School of Management. |
