Jeffrey McKelvy is an experienced pharmaceutical executive who has served in a senior management capacity in major pharmaceutical companies, as well as small biopharmaceutical companies. Positions with major pharma companies include Venture Head at Abbott Laboratories, where he led the team that brought Gabitril® and Serlect® to the marketplace; Senior Vice President and CNS Therapeutic Area Head at Ciba Geigy, where he was responsible for the registration of Tegretol Oros® and Vice President and San Diego Site Head for Merck Research Laboratories.
Dr. McKelvy’s small company experience includes being founding CEO of Trophix Pharmaceuticals, which was acquired by Allellix Biopharmaceuticals, and founding CEO of Avera Pharmaceuticals. He also served as Executive Vice President, Chief Scientific Officer and Director of Sibia, a publically traded biopharmaceutical company which was acquired by Merck. He holds a PhD in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University and an MD from Case Western Reserve University. |
