Jeff Mills is responsible for the asset management activities of MacFarlane Partners’ urban investments on the West Coast and for directly overseeing the development, stabilization and operations of urban assets in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. He oversees a team of real estate professionals working in the firm’s San Francisco office.Jeff, who has 18 years of real estate experience, works with the firm’s development partners and third-party service providers to manage project construction, coordinate tenant improvements, and develop initial property leasing and management strategies. On an annual basis, he prepares strategic asset plans, develops property operating budgets and undertakes hold/sell analyses. He also oversees property dispositions.Prior to joining MacFarlane Partners, Jeff was director of asset management and acquisitions for UBS Realty Investors. In this position, he managed a $500 million portfolio of multifamily, retail, office and industrial properties located primarily in California. He also served in the firm’s acquisitions group, where he was responsible for acquiring existing properties in Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.Jeff began his real estate career as an asset manager with Dean Witter Realty, working both in San Francisco and New York City. Later, as a senior vice president, he helped lead the firm’s renovation/conversion of a luxury high-rise condominium tower in Chicago and subsequently directed its marketing and sales efforts. A certified public accountant, Jeff worked for five years with the major public accounting firms of KPMG Peat Marwick and Deloitte & Touche, ultimately reaching the position of manager.Jeff is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers. He holds a master’s degree in accounting from New York University and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Williams College. |
