Jeffrey D. Laveson, a principal, joined the firm in 2002. Before joining Carney, Mr. Laveson was a partner at the law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in Seattle, where he practiced law since beginning his legal career in 1986. Mr. Laveson is a former U.S. Navy pilot and flight instructor, now retired from the military. Mr. Laveson attended Law School at the University of San Diego where he served as the Executive Comments Editor for the Law Review. He is a former President of the King County Bar Association Aviation Section. Mr. Laveson practices in the following areas: Insurance Law Aviation Law Environmental and Land Use Construction Law Professional Liability Litigation Real Estate and Land Use Commercial Litigation Appellate Practice Health Hazard Law (including asbestos and toxic torts) Litigation Mr. Laveson's practice includes air disaster defense, aviation insurance coverage disputes, product liability, premises liability and construction law. He has represented a range of aviation interests including aircraft owners, operators, manufacturers, suppliers and repairers throughout the United States. Clients in the past include Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and the London aviation and non-marine insurance markets. His aeronautical background and qualifications include private and commercial pilot ratings, single and multi-engine jet and instrument ratings, and military aviation experience. As an outgrowth of his involvement with domestic and London insurance coverage matters, he has significant experience and remains actively engaged in complex insurance coverage litigation throughout the United States.
