Jeff Kirschenbaum focuses his practice on real estate, land use, environmental, and commercial litigation. Mr. Kirschenbaum has successfully represented clients in eminent domain matters and disputes arising under the California Environmental Quality Act as well as litigation dealing with commercial and industrial real estate transactions, inter-creditor disputes, and environmental matters.
Mr. Kirschenbaum has significant jury trial experience and has represented clients in bench trials and arbitration proceedings. Mr. Kirschenbaum's trial experience includes matters involving real estate transactions, environmental contamination, government takings, priority among lien holders, lender liability, and title and Subdivision Map Act issues. Mr. Kirschenbaum has significant experience with appraisal issues in multiple contexts.
Mr. Kirschenbaum also regularly represents clients in appellate matters. Mr. Kirschenbaum was lead attorney in appeals dealing with CEQA, real estate purchase and sale and leasing disputes, mold contamination, partnership disputes, and the priority of real property security interests.
Mr. Kirschenbaum is a contributing author of Nichols on Eminent Domain, Chapter 13B, The Taking of Contaminated Property.
Mr. Kirschenbaum graduated, cum laude, from the University of California, San Diego, and received department honors with high distinction in History. He earned his J.D. from Boalt Hall School of Law in 1988.
