Jeffrey A. Merriam-Rehwald is a Partner in ECJ's Estate Planning, Probate and Trusts Department where his areas of practice include estate planning with trusts and wills, probate of decedent's estates, probate litigation, trust administration, and federal Estate and Gift tax planning. Mr. Merriam-Rehwald has prepared a wide variety of estate plans, including the use of intentionally defective grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts (QPRTs), life insurance trusts, annual gifting trusts (Crummey), and special need trusts as appropriate, for a wide variety of high net worth clients with special assets, including significant business holdings, off-shore assets, and significant pre-tax retirement assets (IRA/401(k)/403(b)).
Mr. Merriam-Rehwald received his J.D. from Loyola Law School in 2001, cum laude, Order of the Coif, and was an Article Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. He received his B.A. in Psychology from the University of California at Santa Cruz in 1995.
Mr. Merriam-Rehwald is a member of the State Bar of California, the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the California Supreme Court, the United States District Court, and the United States Tax Court.
