Jeff Waldman, M.D., was appointed PPFA senior director, clinical services and medical education, in April 2006. He is immediate past president of the PPFA Medical Directors Council (MeDC) and served as the program director for MeDC's educational conferences from 2005 to 2006. Prior to accepting the position with the national organization, he was a member of the PPFA National Medical Committee, and for the past two years worked as a consultant to rewrite the PPFA Standards and Guidelines for Cervical Cancer Screening and Management. Subsequently he served as a resource to respond to affiliate questions related to Pap screening and follow-up. Since 1982 he has served as medical director of Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo and is continuing in that position while he fulfills his responsibilities at the national level. From 1980 to 1998, he was a private practice physician in Lafayette, CA, focusing on management of women with abnormal cervical cytology and HPV-related disease. He is an assistant clinical professor at the University of California San Francisco. He got his undergraduate degree from Drew University, and his medical degree from the University of Brussels, and completed his ob/gyn residency at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. He was born in New York City. |
