Jeff Sowards serves as Project Director of Substations for Midwest Electric, focusing on building and managing the company’s substation construction and maintenance services.Sowards has over 21 years of experience in the high-voltage electrical field working with investor-owned utilities, rural electric cooperatives, municipalities and private companies. He has substation experience from 34.5kV 765kV and transmission construction/maintenance experience from 34.5kV 765kV/AC and 450 kV/DC, including up to 100 hours of barehanded experience.Prior to joining Midwest Electric, Sowards served as a Superintendent and Project Manager for union electrical contractors, managing up to 30 crews in a five state region. He has owned and operated his own electrical contractor company. In addition, he invented and owns co-patent on the SET RITE V.A.T. (vertical alignment tool) that is currently distributed through Bashlin Industries.Jeff is active with the Village of Vinton, providing time and expertise for both the fire department and general community needs. |
