Jeff received his B.A. degree in Physics and Mathematics (magna cum laude) from Boston University in 1984 and an M.S.E.E. degree from North Carolina State University in 1992. From 1985 to 1989, he held engineering and supervisory positions in the Digital Integrated Circuits Group at M.I.T. Lincoln Laboratory, where he developed CMOS processes for the fabrication of wafer-scale VLSI circuits. He joined the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) in 1992 as a Project Engineer, and was promoted to Manager of the CWRU Microfabrication Laboratory (MFL) in July 1995, responsible for overseeing its operation. In 1998, Jeff was appointed to Researcher and became Manager of the MEMS Resource Center?a collective term for the CWRU MEMS research program, its state-of-the-art facilities, and the mechanisms for accessing its technology and capabilities. Under his management the MFL income grew three-fold, the capital equipment base nearly doubled, technical staff size increased each year, and industrial membership grew from one to four organizations. |
