Mr. Gilson was named vice president of Dow Corning Specialty Chemicals in 2005, and is responsible for advancing and sustaining Dow Corning’s growth in the Specialty Chemicals marketplace. Also in 2005, he has added responsibility as Asia Area president. Mr. Gilson leads the team’s research and development, supply chain, and commercial activities, while working to create and deliver unique value propositions for Dow Corning’s customers, distributors and formulators. Prior to assuming his current position, Mr. Gilson served as general manager and corporate vice president for Dow Corning’s Advanced Technologies and New Ventures Business.
Mr. Gilson joined Dow Corning in 1989 as a process engineer in Seneffe, Belgium. Since, he has applied his expertise in a variety of management and leadership roles within Dow Corning. In 1999, Mr. Gilson was appointed science and technology director for the Fluids and Emulsions Business. Two years later, he became general manager for Dow Corning’s New Ventures Business, and was elected a Dow Corning corporate vice president in 2002.
Mr. Gilson earned a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Liege, Belgium, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland. |
