Jay Batson is Chairman of the board of directors of the SIP Forum, the key trade organization serving the community of SIP vendors and services (www.sipforum.org). Jay also serves on the board of directors of Pingtel Corp., which he founded and led for many years, and as a consultant to a number of emerging voice and data networking firms. Jay is also President and CEO of Plum Canary Corporation.
Prior to founding Pingtel, Jay was Vice President of Engineering at ON Technology, a provider of network management and groupware software. In this role, he directed the acquisition of five companies in order to shift the company from a NetWare-oriented product dependence to one focused on TCP/IP technologies. Before this, Jay was a senior analyst in the Networking Service at Forrester research. In his research into IP networking products and services, he was the first Tier-1 industry analyst to provide insight for Global 2,000 IT managers into the emergence of the Internet and World Wide Web, as well as accurately forecast major shifts in the IP networking vendor marketplace. Prior to Forrester, Jay was the lead product manager at Cayman Systems in introducing the world's first LAN remote access appliances. And prior to Cayman, Jay spent time as a software engineer at Bolt, Beranek, and Newman (BBN), and other technology industry firms. Jay has a J.D. from the University of Denver. |
