With a background that includes serving in roles such as general counsel, senior vice president and a director at banks, bank holding companies and other financial institutions, Jay is able to offer astute advice to owners and management on mergers and acquisitions; geographic expansion; development and integration of new financial services businesses; new-product development; and bank lending, operations and risk management.He has represented clients in many mergers, acquisitions, and sales, such as:Serving as lead legal counsel on the negotiation and sale of the Pohlad family’s banking interests to Wells Fargo & Co.Serving as legal counsel and a principal member of the acquisition and divestiture team at Marquette Financial Companies, partnering with the CFO on over 30 acquisitions, numerous divestitures and the creation of a number of de novo financial services businesses.Serving as lead acquisition counsel for the nationwide expansion of a major commercial mortgage broker.A key to Jay’s practice is his unique understanding of the financial services industry.
