Jay A. Forbes is executive vice president of Ingram Micro Inc. and president-designate of Ingram Micro Europe, Middle East and Africa. Based at the company’s regional headquarters in Brussels, Belgium, Forbes leads an organization comprised of 14 country-based operations, a pan-European business unit and a joint venture in South Africa. He was named to the position in 2007.
Forbes, a native of Canada, was most recently president and chief executive officer of Aliant Inc., an Atlantic-Canadian telecommunications and information technology company generating revenues of approximately $2 billion. In this role, Forbes successfully solidified Aliant’s financial position while leading a series of initiatives designed to shift its strategic direction.
Prior to his work at Aliant, Forbes held a series of executive positions for some of the leading companies in Canada. He served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Oxford Properties Group, a Canadian commercial real estate company, as well as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Emera Inc., formerly Nova Scotia Power Inc., a Canadian energy provider.
Forbes earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Dalhousie University where he graduated class valedictorian in 1983. He also completed Duke University’s Strategic Financial Management Program and Harvard University’s Strategic Elements of Financial Management Program. Forbes earned his chartered accountant fellowship in 2005. |
