Jason Schmelzer joined the California Chamber in February 2007 as a policy advocate focusing on workers’ compensation, environmental and transportation issues Schmelzer brought more than seven years of workers’ compensation experience to the CalChamber. Most recently, he worked as a legislative director with the California Manufacturers & Technology Association (CMTA), where he lobbied on workers’ compensation, human resources and health issues. Previously, Schmelzer was a senior claims representative with Callagher Bassett Services, Inc., where he managed a caseload of more than 230 workers' compensation claims. He also has worked as an assistant account executive with the public relations firm Bicker, Castillo & Fairbanks. Schmelzer holds a B.A. in government from California State University, Sacramento. |
