As a member of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group, Jason E. Balog has built a diverse practice focusing on the representation of clients in general business matters, commercial transactions and corporate mergers and acquisitions. His clients range from start-ups, to closely held businesses, to Fortune 500 companies. Mr. Balog also leads the firm's Life Sciences, Biotechnology and PharmaceuticalPractice Group. He has worked with a broad range of life sciences companies, including pharmaceutical manufacturers, pharmaceutical equipment manufacturers, clinical research organizations, equipment validation companies and contract manufacturers in a broad range of business matters. Mr. Balog has an extensive amount of experience with entity formation, drug manufacturing processes and issues, new product development, corporate governance, private and public financing, facility project development, licensing and joint ventures, business operations, production agreements, contractual agreements, confidentiality agreements, supply and distribution agreements, disclosure agreements and sales agreements. Mr. Balog has represented clients ranging from family-owned businesses to large international manufacturing companies in a number of regional, national and international acquisitions and divestitures. Mr. Balog also spends a significant amount of time seeing to his clients’ general corporate needs. He is regularly involved in his clients’ everyday corporate matters and affairs and has extensive experience in contract negotiations. Mr. Balog also often assists with his clients’ tax-based planning and has been involved in numerous corporate reorganizations and restructurings. Outside of his general practice, Mr. Balog has developed a niche practice focused on advertising, product packaging and sales promotions. To that extent, Mr. Balog is regularly involved in the review and development of his clients’ print, Internet and television advertising. He is also involved in all stages of product packaging development. On the promotion side, Mr. Balog represents his clients in the development and implementation of retail sales promotions and contests. His experience with contests and sweepstakes range from local events to national contests.Mr. Balog earned his law degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law and a Masters of Law from the Georgetown University Law Center. Mr. Balog resides in Phoenix, Maryland and splits his time between the firm’s Baltimore and BioPark offices.
