As President, Chief Operating Officer and Director, Jarrett Lilien is focused on driving revenue growth and enhancing profitability for E*TRADE FINANCIAL, while ensuring that all business operations are directly aligned with the Company's retail and institutional customer segments. In recent years, Mr. Lilien has successfully strengthened E*TRADE FINANCIAL's customer value proposition by increasing functionality, improving the customer interface and simplifying the Company's pricing structure.
In 2005, Mr. Lilien was instrumental in delivering the Company's flagship retail product, the E*TRADE CompleteTM Investment Account, to investors. Since its inception, "E*TRADE Complete" has generated organic growth in enterprise cash exceeding $2 billion. In addition, Mr. Lilien has led the charge to advocate on behalf of investors, launching ground-breaking online security initiatives that provide E*TRADE's retail customers with a complete protection guarantee against fraud in their E*TRADE investing, banking and lending accounts.
Mr. Lilien joined E*TRADE FINANCIAL Corporation in August 1999. Prior to his election as President and COO in March 2003, Mr. Lilien served as Chief Brokerage Officer and President, E*TRADE Securities LLC. In this capacity, Mr. Lilien effectively reorganized the brokerage business, adding new product lines and providing innovative brokerage capabilities to the Company's retail and institutional clients around the world. With experience in more than 40 global markets, Mr. Lilien has been instrumental in developing a flexible infrastructure for the Company's brokerage units designed to provide retail and institutional clients with seamless execution, clearing and settlement. Mr. Lilien has also served the Company as Managing Director, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
Mr. Lilien spent ten years as Chief Executive Officer of TIR Holdings, which E*TRADE FINANCIAL acquired in August 1999. Prior to TIR, he held various positions at Paine Webber and Autranet, a division of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. Mr. Lilien serves as President of The Jazz Foundation of America (JFA). He is a board member for the Barton Group and Investsmart. He has also served as a board member for E*TRADE Japan and E*TRADE Australia. Mr. Lilien holds a BA in economics from the University of Vermont. |
