She ultimately moved to Indiana in the early 1970s, and she currently resides in Valparaiso, Indiana. After raising three children, she made the decision to return to school to obtain a J.D., which she received in 2003. She joined the Merrillville office of Spangler, Jennings & Dougherty in 2004. Janis practices tort litigation, and she represents both defendants and plaintiffs. She has represented clients in such matters as personal injury, premise liability, and medical malpractice cases. Janis also practices family and probate law. Additionally, she is a part of the Worker’s Compensation team.
