Experience: Janet has over 15 years of public accounting experience working with individuals, businesses and not-for-profit clients. She works with a variety of small to medium based closely held businesses providing both tax and audit services. Janet’s industry experience includes foundations, schools, long-term care facilities, retail, construction contractors, funeral homes, religious organizations, and real estate companies. Janet has extensive experience with not-for-profit organizations and devotes a significant amount of time to providing auditing and consulting services to various 501(c)(3) entities. She is skilled in the specific reporting requirements for these organizations and with the accounting issues related to charitable giving arrangements. Other Activities: Janet is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and has been active with several committees and task forces in the Virginia Society of CPAs. She also participates in the Virginia Planned Giving Study Group, is a member of the advisory board of the Governmental and Non-Profit Assistance Center at Radford University, and actively participates in the National Association of Women Business Owners, Richmond chapter, or served as the Foundation treasurer. Janet also takes an active role in the community through personal involvement in her church, the Maymont Foundation, the Arthritis Foundation, UVA alumni activities, and other various charitable and civic organizations. |
