Ms. Stiven is a member of the firm's Corporate Finance practice group. She represents a diverse group of clients, including lenders, manufacturing, retailing, technology and service companies on a variety of corporate, real estate, banking, and intellectual property matters. Upon graduation from law school in 1985, Ms. Stiven joined our firm where she gained experience in corporate finance, M&A and securities matters. She has been responsible for structuring, documenting and closing a variety of business transactions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, including those for middle-market and emerging technology companies. Ms. Stiven has represented U.S. and non-U.S. clients in negotiated transactions, including mergers, stock and asset purchases and is familiar with techniques for maximizing transaction value. Ms. Stiven is a co-leader of the firm's Commercial Finance team. She has an active domestic banking and finance practice handling a variety of transactions on behalf of national and regional banks, including single bank and syndicated credit facilities (secured and unsecured), to corporate borrowers, as well as asset-based, acquisition, and real estate financings. She has negotiated, documented and provided counsel concerning numerous financing tools. Her practice has also included significant work in real estate transactional matters for corporate and individual clients, including the drafting, reviewing and negotiating of real estate contracts and leases for various real estate transactions. Ms. Stiven regularly advises clients on intellectual property matters, including copyright, trademark, trade secret, confidentiality and non-competition issues. She was an Article and Note Editor of the DePaul Law Review and the author of "Strategic Alliances", published in the Illinois Manufacturers' Association InfoServ. |
