Dr. M. Jane Teta is a Principal Scientist and the Practice Director of Exponent's Health Sciences practice. She specializes in chronic disease epidemiology occupational and environmental studies regulatory risk assessment and risk communication to the media and public. In addition she has expertise in hazard classification and risk-based standard setting as practiced by numerous research and regulatory agencies (International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) National Toxicology Program (NTP) Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA)).
Prior to joining Exponent Dr. Teta was the Director of Epidemiology Health Information Risk Assessment and Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) for Union Carbide Corporation managing epidemiology program planning and implementation design management and communication of studies to employees and providing consultation to businesses and manufacturing sites. She has served on numerous scientific advisory boards (Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry EPA Mickey Leland Center Harvard Center for Risk Analysis) and has numerous publications and presentations in the areas of risk assessment cancer and occupational epidemiology. Dr. Teta received a Doctor of Public Health degree in Chronic Disease Epidemiology and a Masters of Public Health in Biostatistics from Yale University. |
