Jane Allen is senior vice president of Human Resources for United. She is based at the company's headquarters in Chicago.
Named to the position in 2006, Allen is responsible for United's worldwide Human Resource functions, including labor relations, personnel policies and issues, benefits and compensation.
Prior to her current position, Allen served as the company's senior vice president of Onboard Service. In that role, she was responsible for United's worldwide flight attendant operations; food and beverage service design and operations; flight attendant manpower planning and scheduling; and pilot and crew hotel accommodations.
Before joining United in 2003, Allen served as vice president of Flight Service for American Airlines from 1997 to 2003. Prior to that position, she served as vice president of Employee Relations and chief labor negotiator from 1992 to 1997 and as managing director of Compensation and Benefits from 1986 to 1992. She joined American Airlines as an attorney in 1986. She also served as an attorney with the Dallas-based law firm of Haynes and Boone from 1981 through 1986.
Allen holds a Juris Doctor degree from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio State University. She serves on the board of directors for the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. |
