With more than 21 years of industrial real estate experience and a track record of executing industrial development projects across Europe, Jan Scheers’ role as Managing Director is to lead First Industrial’s international expansion.
As Managing Director - Europe, Mr. Scheers is charged with leading First Industrial Realty Trust’s expansion into new European markets, including The Netherlands and Belgium. Based in Brussels, he is responsible for all business development, investments and portfolio management.
Prior to joining First Industrial, Mr. Scheers was at MacquarieGoodman (formerly Eurinpro), a leading real estate developer and investor in commercial properties. As Managing Director for several European countries, he was responsible for acquisitions, development and property management, as well as building operations for a network of new offices.
Previously, he was Eurinpro’s Chief Operating Officer in charge of development for Northern Europe and Country Manager for Belgium and Germany.
Earlier, Mr. Scheers held numerous positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), including serving as Leader of the Corporate Real Estate Group and head of PwC-acquired Plant Location International, a Belgian consulting firm that specialized in international location advice, logistics and supply chain optimization, and regional development.
A member of VIL Vlaams Instituut van de Logistiek and VB Vereniging voor Inkoop en Bedrijfslogistiek en Nederland Distributieland, Mr. Scheers earned master’s degrees in both business administration and business economics from Brussels University.
