Dr. James Weiss serves as the chief of the Division of Cardiology at UCLA and the director of the Cardiovascular Research Laboratory. Known as The Heart Lab, this research center serves as a major training center for cardiovascular scientists and is considered one of the foremost labs in the world in the multidisciplinary study of the heart. Dr. Weiss’s current research interests range from the molecular to the integrated level, and focus on ion channel biophysics, cardiac electrophysiology, arrhythmias, and ischemia and mitochondrial biology. He holds memberships in numerous professional organizations, including the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, the Heart Rhythm Society, the Biophysical Society, the American Society of Clinical Investigation, and the Association of University Cardiologists. |
