James C. Wei Senior Vice President Asia Pacific has full profit-and-loss responsibility for Avon’s operations in a region that includes Japan Taiwan Australia and India.
Previously Mr. Wei was Vice President New Markets and Strategic Planning Asia Pacific. In that position he was responsible for developing and implementing Avon’s business strategies overseeing the entry into new markets such as Vietnam and identifying new platforms for growth in Asia.
Mr. Wei joined Avon in 2003 as Regional Vice President Strategic Planning Asia Pacific. Before joining Avon Mr. Wei spent 19 years at Procter & Gamble where he rose to become Vice President and General Manager of Procter & Gamble Greater China overseeing the company’s US$1 billion health and beauty care business in that region. He played an instrument part in the development of the business model for Greater China SKII (Procter & Gamble’s prestige beauty brand) Crest and China Olay. Prior to that role Mr. Wei held positions of increasing responsibility in marketing for Procter & Gamble in Europe the U.S. and Asia and was credited with the creation of the Pantene Pro-V global business model.
Mr. Wei serves on the Board of Directors for Tsann Kuen China a manufacturer of household appliances and retailer of electronics and appliances. He holds a B.S.E.E from National Taiwan University and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. |
