James has exceptional expertise in manufacturing, business development, corporate strategy, risk management, finance and accounting. He specializes in advising organizations with international operations on matters of corporate strategy, operational efficiency, project management, brand development and risk management. Professional Experience Before joining BBK, James was Managing Principal at Atlantic Ridge Consulting and worked with clients in Belgium, France, Spain and Bulgaria on matters as varied as acquisition due diligence and product re-sourcing to Eastern Europe. During an interim role as Managing Director (and CEO) of WeCX (a start-up organization that promotes international trade by connecting companies in emerging markets to those in developed markets) he developed a corporate strategy to exploit the organizations competitive position, created a brand platform, and designed both the capital structure of the company and its risk management systems. James founded LSC Group (a US- and Mexican-based supplier of steel and aluminum parts and welded assemblies to the automotive industry) and served as President of the Lakeshore Stamping division in Michigan and Managing Director of the Lagomex division in Mexico. In his role as chief executive, James was responsible for finance, sales, product and system design, engineering, and quality functions--including development and compliance with ISO and QS standards. During the late 1980s, James was a Vice President of Van Wormer Industries, a metal stamping supplier and division of the Masco family of companies. Prior to becoming involved in manufacturing, James was associated with Berry Moorman, PC, a Detroit-based law firm, and practiced corporate, securities and tax law. His career began in the audit and tax departments of Price Waterhouse & Co.'s Detroit office. While at Price Waterhouse, James specialized in US taxation of international operations and enjoyed postings to Price Waterhouse offices in Brussels, Belgium and Caracas, Venezuela. James has accepted appointments to the Steering Group for the International Mergers & Acquisitions and Joint Venture Committee and the Steering Group for the International Procurement Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of International Law for the 2007-2008 year. He has recently given several presentations including one entitled "Strategy, Technology and Global Competitive Advantage" which was delivered to the MBA program at the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and one on the subject of Corporate Social Responsibility which was delivered to the American Bar Association's Section of International Law at a conference held in Brussels, Belgium. |
