As a founding Partner of Foster/Searing, Ltd, Mr. Searing strongly believes that "A truly thorough senior executive search ought to be a unique and individually tailored endeavor, performed entirely by a seasoned search professional ...and not an assembly process." Having held top positions in large global and small boutique firms, he has become dedicated to this concept.
Prior to spinning off Foster/Searing, Ltd from its predecessor firm, Cabot Consultants, he was the Managing Partner of that nine-partner, leading mid-Atlantic search firm. Additionally, he was a leader in their technology practice, as well as managing sales, marketing, finance and human resources functional searches.
Prior to joining Cabot, Mr. Searing was the Managing Director of Korn/Ferry International's Tysons Corner office and a leader in the firm's North American advanced technology practice.
Earlier, he was one of the co-founders of a prominent Mid-Atlantic search firm, heading its technology search effort. He began his search career in 1982 with an international search firm, working primarily in the fields of telecommunications and information technology - generating and executing general management and top functional level searches. Additional assignments included those in the financial services, energy, consulting and biotech and pharmaceutical industries.
Particular areas of personal search expertise encompass the functional fields of general management, sales/marketing, finance, human resources, and government affairs.
Prior to his search career, Mr. Searing was with AT&T Long Lines, where he managed a variety of large national accounts from the sales, marketing and service aspects. Earlier, he spent six years as an Officer in the U.S. Marine Corp in the logistics, supply and telecommunications fields.
Mr. Searing holds a BS in engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis and an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business, both with honors. |
